Statim cassette autoclaves perform the same basic functions as the larger chamber autoclaves - heat, steam, and pressure - but on a smaller and faster scale with a removable cassette that we can use to transport the sterilized jewelry or tools easily! We use these for anything that’s not already pre-packaged and pre-sterilized, like our gold selection that we remove directly from the display cases or items that have just arrived and have yet to be run in a chamber autoclave. This information will be saved to your release form, so if for any reason we need to reference the integrator of that cycle number we can absolutely do so. We keep a detailed sterilization log for every chamber autoclave that includes a list of what’s going inside each cycle, the date and cycle number (which is also stamped onto the packaging of everything inside the cycle), and an integrator strip that’s included in the cycle and then stapled to the sterilization log.Įverything from the cycle is then safely stored and ready for us to use! If everything we’re using for your procedure has already been pre packaged and sterilized, you’ll see your piercer remove everything from that sealed and stamped packaging. We use these primarily for sterilizing tools like tapers, hemostats, ring openers, etc that are used sometimes during procedures, as well as large batches of jewelry that we stock large quantities of at once, like barbells and titanium basics.

Chamber autoclaves are the larger, louder of the two types of autoclave, and they take 35+ minutes to run a complete sterilization cycle (depending on what and how much is inside).
